treatments
- As of today, there is no cure or treatment for Tay-Sachs, just things to treat a very small amount of symptoms. For example, people may take anti-convulsants to control the seizures initially. Other good practices include good nutrition, staying hydrated, and using techniques to keep the airway open. If necessary, some children are given feeding tubes to assist them. Research is developing possible treatments, but so far they are either still being tested on animal models or have not shown the desired results in humans.
